What are the types of AC? How is split AC different from other ACs

Everyone has different requirement and different space for fitting an air conditioner. Many people end up buying the wrong type of air conditioner for their place because of lack of information about different types of the air conditioner. The choice of the air conditioner depends upon so many different factors like how much space is needed to be cooled by it, how warm the climatic conditions are, how much heat is generated inside the area and many more. If you are looking forward to choosing the right type of AC for your place then you can consult an HVAC designer for it. He will consider all the parameters and factors and will suggest you the most suitable system for your place. There are four different types of air conditioners available in the market to choose from.

  1. Window Air Conditioning System
  2. Split Air Conditioner System
  3. Central Air Conditioning Plants
  4. Packaged Air Conditioners

The most commonly used air conditioners are the split air conditioners and they are used for small places like rooms and halls. They are mainly used in places where a window air conditioner cannot be installed. Many people also choose to have split AC over window AC even if a window AC can be fitted. You can always choose the right air conditioner for your place as there are so many options available and there are so many brands in the market who claim to produce the best split AC in India.

The split air conditioner comprises of two parts i.e.  the outdoor unit and the indoor unit. The outdoor unit is the part which is fitted outside the room or house and it contains important components like the compressor, condenser and expansion valve. Whereas the indoor unit comprises of the evaporator which is also known as cooling coil and the cooling fan and it stays inside the room. For this type of air conditioners, you don’t have to make any holes in the wall of the room to get the slot which is very feasible. A split AC can be used to cool one or two rooms which makes it even better for small houses. The biggest attraction of split ACs today is that they do not take much space as compared to window ACs.

The design of split AC is very much different from other types of ACs as it splits up into two components unlike other types of units who are enclosed within a single component. The installation process of split Acs may require professional help for installation whereas the installation of window ACs can be easily done. The capacity range of split ACs may also vary from other types of air conditioners as its range is from 0.8 to 2 ton.

The another most common reason why people prefer split ACs over window Acs is that the split ACs cause the minimal noise and keeps the environment quiet whereas window ACs cause the relatively higher level of noise. This amazing feature makes the split ACs the best choice for offices, schools, colleges, and hospitals as in these places the minimum noise is the best.

The split air conditioners are ideal for places where looks for the electrical appliances matter as they come in different designs and colors and they look very attractive and sleek as compared to the window ACs. The installation charges may be more for the split ACs as compared to the window ACs but these are worth every penny. It is completely optional for everyone to choose from any type of air conditioners and at last one thing that matters the most is that your air conditioner should be efficient and suitable for your own requirement.
